The standard Cat 3024 engine used on the PB50 lift truck is a naturally aspirated model rated 52 hp. A turbocharged version rated 62 hp is available as an option on the PB50 and is the standard engine on the PB65. The engine package on both machines incorporates an SRF America heavy-duty frame-mounted radiator and Donaldson dual-element air cleaner. A cyclonic precleaner is also available as an option, the company said.The engine drives a Bosch Rexroth AA10VG hydraulic pump that power the hydrostatic drive. Bosch Rexroth gear pumps are used to power the lift and auxiliary systems. The hydrostatic drive pump incorporates an ant-stall system designed to prevent engine stalling because of overload. "The anti-stall feature reduces drive pump output when engine output cannot meet the demand," Pohl explained. "This prevents the engine from bogging down and stalling. Because the feature is fully automatic, it allows the operator to concentrate fully on driving the machine in rough terrain." In a hammer drill, the hammering action is provided by spinning disk. The toothed disks rotate against each other, causing the bit to move in and out at more than 40,000 blows per minute.[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]Although rotary hammers deliver fewer blows per minute, they provide about five times the impact force of a hammer drill. A pneumatic piston powers the striker that transfers impact to the bit. This design reduces operator fatigue and makes drilling more efficient. Unlike the more versatile hammer drill, though, a rotary hammer can''t be used for drilling wood or metal. Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters. These cutters'' geometry allows the operator to drill multi-layered truck frames in a single pass.
