GIS, or Geographic Information System, provides the mapping component. With the tracker devices installed in vehicles, dispatchers can follow a vehicle''s location in real-time. When an incident occurs, controllers can quickly dispatch the vehicle nearest to the incident.In the El Paso Fire Department, for instance, the GPS-powered automatic vehicle locator system tracks the location of the department''s apparatus fleet. This system consists of a radio and a GPS receiver/transceiver affixed to each fire apparatus. A signal from the GPS unit is transmitted to a satellite, the signal bounces back to earth, and the radio system tells the computer system exactly where that unit is on a map to within one meter of accuracy. "Material handling and threshing performance on all STS combines has been enhanced because of a new, wider right-hand radius profile on the concave," Moron says. "The increased right-hand threshing width promotes faster, smoother crop flow with more complete threshing. The wider concave radius also helps to reduce overall power consumption in high-volume, tough material handling crop conditions."Adding to the productivity of the 9760 STS and the 9860 STS is a new high capacity unloading system. Delivering a 150 percent increase in the unloading rate versus previous models, the high-capacity system unloads at 3.3 bushels per second, the fastest unloading rate of any combine produced today. The high-capacity unloading system is standard equipment on the 9860 STS and optional on the 9760 STS. Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters.
