Farmers don''t change tank filters regularly, and they don''t drain deposits from the bottom of tanks."Caring for stored fuelChuck Hamilton, technical service engineer with Country Energy in Minneapolis, Minnesota, says 90% of the diesel fuel problems he sees are from dirt, rust, and water contamination. "Even many cold-weather problems are from water contamination, not fuel gelling. The vast majority of these problems can be eliminated with proper fuel tank maintenance on the farm," he says. "The new combines also feature a heavy-duty variable-drive feederhouse with greater capacity than previous models," says Moron. "Upper-variable-drive and lower-reverser-gear-case sheaves are now 50 mm larger in diameter. They provide more drive belt surface contact, which increases drive capacity and reduces friction heat. It is especially valuable when running 8- or 12-row cornheads at higher ground speeds."This feature is standard on corn 9760 STS and 9860 STS combines and an option on all other 60 Series machines.
