The newest Magnum light tower, the model MLT3060, has many of the same features as the existing MLT4060 tower, but in a smaller envelope. It is powered by either of two liquid-cooled engine options, a Mitsubishi L3E or Cat 3003, which drive a 6 kW Marathon generator. Other engine system components include Enginaire air cleaners, Diesel Radiator radiators and Nelson mufflers.The MLT3060 light tower, which was just introduced in July, has a three-part mast that extends to a height of 30 ft. and rotates 360[degrees]. The light tower incorporates a new Start Limit Breaker (SLB), which eliminates the potential of starting the engine with a load on the generator. This safety feature protects the generator and any loads connected to it. The MLT3060 light tower is shipped from the factory with its lights installed and offers four individual ballast boxes and indicator lights, four individual circuit breakers, a stable four-point outrigger stance, coiled mast cord, low oil/high temperature automatic shutdown system, hourmeter, 120 V GFIC and 240 twist-lock outlets, all as standard. Each of Magnum''s light towers also include Magnum''s own control panel. Circle 103 on inquiry card The Clean-Pak extended surface pocket filter is made with a dual layer synthetic media. The pockets are formed by a sonic sealing process using ultra high frequency sound. It features a high burst strength to maintain pocket integrity under high resistance or turbulent conditions. The pockets are mechanically crimped and chemically bonded to a rust-resistant, galvanized steel header. Airguard. Circle 104 on card The GVD Vent Damper solves the problem of heat loss and cold air infiltration through open vent pipes. When there''s a call for heat, the motorized damper automatically opens to allow natural draft during appliance operations. When the thermostat is satisfied, the damper closes. It is made of stainless steel and available in eight sizes from 4-in. to 12-in. It operates with all 24 VAC, 60 hz intermittent ignition and standing pilot ignition systems. Field Controls. The cast, or pour, method is one in which the area is made completely watertight by use of forms (i.e. ladle walls and floor). The mix would contain more water than a trowel application mix. A cast refractory should be thoroughly worked into place, with internal air bubbles removed by rodding or vibrating. The best method is to use vibratory equipment, since it encourages the material to flow freely and completely fills the form or box. Vibrating also permits working with a stiffer mix (less water). However, hand rodding--with a shovel, rod, ice scraper or pole--will suffice if done thoroughly. Working out all the air strengthens the material and reduces porosity. The action of vibration or rodding sets the refractory particles in motion, reducing the friction between the particles and giving the mixture the texture of a thick fluid. Internal vibrating or rodding does the most consistent job, but external vibration is also effective. Although vibration equipment is available for refractories, it can often be improvised with equipment already on hand to vibrate the mass externally. An air hammer held against the form can do a good job in many cases. So may a nut runner or other pneumatic vibratory tool. Even hammering the form with a hand sledge will do if accompanied by hand rodding. In all cases, be sure the material is worked near the forms. That is where air bubbles collect.
