All machines are sold in North America under the EarthForce brand nameKubota Tractor Corp. USA, an American affiliate of Kubota Corp. in Japan, offers two models of mini-backhoe loaders, the B21 and L35. The company is second in the marketplace and imports its machines from Japan. KTC, which started selling machines in the U.S. market in 1972, is headquartered in Torrance, Calif. The company''s B21 machine is rated 21 hp and features hydrostatic drive, while the L35 is rated 35 hp and has a mechanical Glide Shift transmission for clutchless shifting. The bigger machine has a 9 ft. digging depth. Ingersoll Equipment (not to be confused with Ingersoll-Rand Co.) is located in Winneconne, Wis. The company started producing small backhoe loaders in 1983. Current models include 18 hp and 20 hp machines and a larger addition is being discussed for 2001. Both the 6018 BH and 6020 BH loaders have a digging depth of 7.5 ft. and both machines are very light at less than 3000 lb. The 1895 is based on the design of our new 1890 No-Till Air Drill, with two ranks of openers on 10-inch spacing. But the 1895 incorporates a third rank on 20-inch spacing, positioned to place fertilizer lower in the ground and on a separate band from the seed. This separation means fertilizer won''t damage the seed, but newly emerged plants have nutrients available right in the root zone. Team the 1895 with a three-tank 1910 Commodity Air Cart, and you''re puffing seed and pop-up fertilizer through the rear ranks, and high rate fertilizer through the front. Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters.
