Braswell brought the technology to the United States, then later sold the rights to Toro.Compact hydraulic equipment, Braswell saw, could be a way to serve many industries such as landscaping, fencing, nursery, irrigation, utilities, construction, cable installation, rental and even roofing. The 416D has a digging depth of 14 ft. 5 in. with the standard stick and 18 ft. 1 in. with an extendable stick. The 420D has a backhoe digging depth of 14 ft. 5 in. when equipped with the standard stick while the 430D has a digging depth of 15 ft. 3 in. with a standard stick. Extendible sticks push the 420D''s dig depth to 18 ft. 1 in. and 19 ft. 11 in. for the 430D. All three machines now feature 205[degrees] rotation of the backhoe bucket linkage, 40[degrees] more than the C-Series machines. "This new design feature makes it easier to dig vertical walls and to clamp material for truck loading," said Hershberger. In addition, the backhoe buckets now feature single pin position and all former models'' buckets and Cat work tools can be used on the D-Series. The bucket link now has an integrated lifting eye. Though light in weight, Airbor magnetic drill has a powerful 1.6-hp air motor and 1,600-lb magnetic holding strength. With its extra rack, stroke length is extended to 10 1/4 in. Annular cutter capacity is up to 2 1/16 in. diam. Geared chuck adapter converts the unit to a standard drill press. The Slugger Air Force pneumatic drill, at 24 lbs, 6 1/4" high, is useful for confined area drilling. The drill''s features include a permanent magnet that turns on or off by air power, a cutter capacity of up to 1 1/16" diameter x 3/4" depth and the ability to use ShortSlugger cutters and frame cutters. These cutters'' geometry allows the operator to drill multi-layered truck frames in a single pass.
